Room Almanac aims to publish content that is useful, clearly written, and genuinely worth a reader’s time. This page explains the principles behind how we create and maintain our content.
Editorial independence
Our editorial decisions (what we cover, how we frame it, and which ideas we recommend) are made independently. Coverage decisions are not influenced by whether a topic or product is part of an affiliate relationship.
How our content is created
Room Almanac articles follow a documented editorial process before publication. Each piece begins with a clearly defined topic and the questions or decisions a reader needs help with. Articles are then researched, structured, and drafted around that purpose, with factual claims, measurements, specifications, and product details checked against appropriate source information where relevant.
Before publication, each article is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, internal consistency, working links, and formatting. Shopping guides use additional selection criteria such as price, dimensions, materials, specifications, practical fit, and how well each product addresses a particular reader need. Product selection is made independently of affiliate commission.
Published articles may be corrected or materially updated when information changes, products become unavailable, or an error is identified.
Research and sourcing
Articles are developed from established design conventions and information that is reasonably verifiable at the time of writing. Guidance on products, materials, and design decisions is based on published specifications and other available source information relevant to the question at hand.
Accuracy and updates
We aim for accuracy at the time of publication. Home design trends, product availability, and pricing change, so articles may be revised over time. When an article is meaningfully updated after its original publish date, the page displays an updated date alongside the original.
Corrections
If you believe something on Room Almanac is inaccurate or out of date, we want to know. You can reach us through our Contact page, and we will review and correct genuine errors.
Affiliate and commercial separation

Imagery
Room Almanac uses a mix of photography and, where noted, conceptual or AI-assisted imagery to illustrate ideas. Conceptual and AI-assisted images are intended to represent a style or concept, not a documentary photograph of a real person’s home. Where a product module accompanies this kind of image, it is presented as a similar or suggested piece rather than the exact item shown, unless that is genuinely the case.
